Restorative and cosmetic dentistry
For healthy, happy smiles
At Caring Dental in Petts Wood, our absolute priority is to provide the best advice and treatment to help you maintain excellent dental health. But it’s also important that you are confident in your smile and happy with the appearance of your teeth.
This can often be achieved with something straight forward, such as hygienist cleaning or replacing a silver (amalgam) filling with a white (composite) filling, or you may be interested in more extensive improvements. Whatever you are considering, please ask your dentist for advice and they will be more than happy to have a no-obligation discussion about suitable treatment options.

Simple solutions for big improvements
There are many occasions where simple treatments can make a significant difference to how your teeth look.
- It might be an old, stained composite filling that needs replacing with a beautiful new white filling perfectly matched to your natural tooth. Or perhaps a glint of silver that shows when you smile, or that’s noticeable in photos.
- Front teeth can be unevenly worn or chipped, which can easily be improved with a little smoothing or ‘cosmetic contouring’. We also offer composite bonding, a minimally invasive and painless way to repair and re-shape teeth, or close unwanted cracks and spaces.
- Removing plaque, tartar and surface staining can really improve the appearance and health of your teeth and gums. Particularly popular is our Airflow cleaning system, which our hygienists use to gently eliminate stains and increases tooth brightness.
A little more complex, but great results
- Custom-made crowns & onlays
Sometimes, if a particularly large filling is needed, a tooth-coloured crown may be more appropriate. As well as enhancing appearance, this can be a stronger, more durable solution, saving your tooth and saving you money in the long-term. In some cases, your dentist may recommend an onlay instead. These partial crowns retain some of the tooth’s side walls, while providing additional protection and strengthening the biting surface. - Veneers
Veneers are custom-made ‘shells’, generally fitted to the visible face of teeth to improve appearance, for example on a single discoloured front tooth, or to mask darker or stained fillings underneath. Multiple veneers can be placed to give an even and harmonious look to your smile. - Restoring missing teeth
If you are conscious about gaps from previous extractions, you may like to consider dental implants. Again, as well as enjoying a more confident smile, there are many health benefits to replacing missing teeth. An alternative solution might be a bridge or denture, but speak to your dentist about the best option for you. - Teeth straightening with aligners
Clear aligners can really transform a smile and boost confidence. Many of us have crowded teeth, which tend to worsen as we get older, so correcting this at an early stage can be really beneficial. Straighter teeth not only enhance appearance, but make cleaning easier and support better dental health. Please speak to your dentist about aligner options with Invisalign or 32Co. - A whiter, brighter smile
Our teeth can become darker through diet and lifestyle choices, or show yellowing as we get older. Whether you are looking to improve discolouration, or to enhance the shade of your teeth, our at-home and in-surgery whitening treatments are a safe and effective way to restore your smile.
