Gentle care and a beaming smile
Enjoy healthy teeth & gums
Hygiene treatment greatly improves the appearance of your teeth and your oral health, especially when combined with regular check-ups and a good homecare routine. If you wish, you can even see a hygienist without having a dental appointment first.
If you haven’t visited for a while, you may like to know about the advanced technology we use at Caring Dental, including Airflow and Guided Biofilm Therapy. These modern techniques are designed to give you a more relaxing and comfortable cleaning experience – very different to the scaling process you may have had in the past!
However long it’s been, our experienced, friendly hygienist team would love to see you, and can promise you a warm welcome, expert advice, and gentle treatment.

Airflow gentle cleaning
See and feel the difference!
Airflow is a professional stain removal system used to clean your teeth and remove stains gently and painlessly, even if you usually experience sensitivity.
- From light discolouration to more severe staining, Airflow cleaning significantly improves tooth brightness and the health of your teeth and gums.
- The system uses a special erythritol powder, air, and a gentle jet stream of warm water to remove surface stains caused by tobacco, food and drink that can be tough to tackle at home.
- As the unit pre-warms the water, this greatly reduces sensitivity. Even people who usually find dental cleaning uncomfortable are pleasantly surprised by how gentle and effective Airflow is.
The fine organic powder used with Airflow is so mild that, unlike regular scalers, it is also safe to use on dental implants, with no risk of scratching or scuffing. It’s a great way to clean them and keep the supporting gums healthy too. It’s also very gentle on natural tooth enamel.
Airflow Guided Biofilm Therapy
Smoother, brighter, cleaner teeth
As well as routine cleaning and hygiene, Airflow is also used for Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT).
This is a modern, non-invasive method of gently removing stains, plaque, tartar and bacterial ‘biofilm’ to improve the appearance and health of your teeth and gums.
What is biofilm?
Biofilm is a harmful bacterial layer that sits around teeth and gums. This sticky sheet develops when dental plaque is colonised by bacteria. It’s important to remove it because biofilm is the main cause of gum disease and a major contributor to tooth decay.
Our skilled hygienists can treat hard-to-reach areas above and below the gumline, and between teeth or implants. They will also give you tips on minimising biofilm build-up before your next visit.
